**Attention U.S. Carriers**

New Manitoba Safety Fitness Certificate Requirements for U.S. Motor Carriers
Effective Sept. 1, 2025, U.S. motor carriers operating regulated vehicles in Manitoba must hold a valid Manitoba Safety Fitness Certificate OR an equivalent operating authority issued by a Canadian jurisdiction, such as an Ontario CVOR or Quebec NIR.  This change to the Safety Fitness Certificate requirement is part of Manitoba Transportation and Infrastructure’s ongoing efforts to enhance road safety and ensure consistent compliance with provincial standards.

Manitoba Permit Services issues over dimensional and overweight permits for the province of Manitoba, the City of Winnipeg and City of Brandon.

The Permit Office is closed the second Wednesday of each month from 10:00 to 12:00 (noon) and all statutory and civic holidays.
